With a new frontier of research on children's spirituality, research as well as experience, is showing that creating a sacred space for children, where they can encounter the living God, is vital for their faith formation. The Young Children & Worship approach does this with children in churches by following the four fold order of worship that is familiar in almost every congregation: Gathering Together, Hearing the Word Proclaimed, Responding to God's Word, Going Out Into the World as Chris's Disciple.  Each part of the worship approach engages children in different ways through singing, story, a quiet time of personal response that is multisensory and friendly to children, a time of prayer, and a sending or blessing. This workshop will explore how to use and adapt the Young Children & Worship model to create this sacred space in your classrooms and schools.
