In this seminar, I will share methods developed by Kylene Beers and Robert Probst in their book "Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading." Beers and Probst have created a series of lessons which leads students to deeper reading of a text, and importantly, to reach that understanding independently. I have use the methods in my classroom in the past year with some success, and I am excited to share both the method and examples of how it has aided my students.
